The #MeToo Movement was started by actress Alyssa Milano, 44, on Twitter and it shed light on the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault when thousands of women shared their stories on social media in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

President Trump was named Person of the Year last year, calling it "a tremendous honor". The investigation has led to charges against four individuals including former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The #MeToo movement started past year after a recording was released of Donald Trump joking about sexual assault during a taping of Access Hollywood.

Trump tweeted last month that Time told him he was "probably" going to receive the title for a second straight year, but said he wasn't interested.

President of China, Xi Jinping, is considered one of the country's most powerful leaders ever.

Time is expected to unveil the 2017 Person of the Year on Wednesday.
