Winter Session of Parliament to be held from 15 December

Spanning 22 days, the session will conclude on January 5.

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, headed by home minister Rajnath Singh, met on Friday to finalise the dates of the session. The CCPA set the ball rolling by making a recommendation to this effect.

These leaders said the development had undermined the institution of Parliament itself and called for President's urgent intervention as the custodian of the Constitution.

The winter session of Parliament generally gets over before Christmas, though there are precedents of the session spilling over to the next year.

Jaitley took potshots at rivals and said the BJP would be busy with the Gujarat poll campaign but he was not sure if its opponents would also be busy.
