Donald Trump Says He Rejected 'Probably' Being Time's 'Person Of The Year'

Donald Trump smiles at the White House in Washington D.C

Former adviser to former President Obama and current co-host of "Pod Save America" Dan Pfeiffer tweeted that Trump's claim is "sad" and the president is "so needy for approval".

"Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named 'Man (Person) of the Year, ' like last year", he tweeted just a few hours after calling for a border wall with Mexico in light of a terror attack in Egypt. "The mag frequently includes photo spreads and interviews with several "finalist" type people, not just the person".

Time named Trump its Person of the Year last year.

However, Time responded shortly afterwards, accusing the United States president of misrepresenting them.

It claims it doesn't comment on its choice until publication, which is on the 6th of December.

Earlier in 2016, the magazine had named Trump "Person of the Year", following his massive victory over Hillary Clinton.

"Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you're NOT Person of the Year", he wrote.

You can always print yourself another fake cover.

"The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year".

Donald Trump's least presidential moments so far.

Many of his clubs are decorated with many of these covers - including, up until recently, a fake March 2009 Time cover that featured the real estate developer and proclaimed: "TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS ..." And it's a very important magazine, and I've been lucky enough to be on the cover many times this year - and last year.

"This real estate baron and casino owner turned reality-TV star and provocateur-never a day spent in public office, never a debt owed to any interest besides his own-now surveys the smoking ruin of a vast political edifice that once housed parties, pundits, donors, pollsters, all those who did not see him coming or take him seriously".
