Morocco, Tunisia take different paths to World Cup

How and where to watch Ivory Coast v Morocco

Full back Serge Aurier had the Ivory Coast's best chance shortly after the hour mark when he blazed over in acres of space before Noureddine Amrabat nearly killed the game on the break but a further cushion wasn't needed.

Morocco and Tunisia have joined Nigeria, Egypt, and Senegal as the African teams who will be playing in the World Cup this summer.

Ivory Coast, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the quadrennial tournament after making it to the competition's finals for three times in a row in 2006, 2010 and 2014.

Tunisia secured the draw it needed, 0-0 at home against Libya, to qualify from Group A and edge out Congo.

The Atlas Lions are returning to the World Cup for the first time in 20 years after they last made it in 1998.

Unbeaten Tunisia have been to four previous World Cup finals and were the first African country to win a game at the finals, in 1978.

Chrissy Teigen fails at boycotting Twitter's new update
Only five percent of users went above 140 characters during the test, and only 2 percent ever went north of 190 characters. This week, the social media outlet started allowing most users 280 characters for their tweets .

Morocco scored twice within five minutes through Nabil Dirar and Medhi Benatia during the opening half to triumph 2-0 in the Ivory Coast and win Group C.

Dirar opened the scoring off a cross-turned-shot on 25 minutes and Benatia doubled the lead after a corner on the half-hour.

Morocco and Tunisia now join Nigeria, Senegal and Egypt as Africa's representatives at next year's FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Two goals in stoppage time - a Jonathan Bolingi penalty and a fine Neeskens Kebano strike - gave DR Congo the victory, but it proved not to matter as Tunisia held on for the draw in the other game to win the group by a single point.

Tunisia finished a point clear of DR Congo, who were seeking a first trip to the finals since 1974 when they played as Zaire, to achieve their own fifth World Cup qualification.
