J&K Encounter between security forces terrorists underway in Pulwama

Three militants and an army soldier were killed while a civilian was injured in an ongoing encounter between security forces and ultras in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday.

Earlier on November 2, two Army soldiers were killed during an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. But as soon the joint team intensified the searches, militants opened fire and the encounter broke out.

They said that the three militants were involved in an attack on Police party in which a constable of J&K police was killed. The identity of the militants were not immediately known. The cordon and search operation was going on till last reports came in. "He had received several bullet wounds and was taken to army hospital in a critical condition".

Defence spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia, said that three militants hiding in the area have been killed.

Following the encounter protests also erupted in the area and as the locals were trying to break the cordon in order to aid the militants in fleeing from the cordon site.

The civilian sustained bullet wound below his heart on left side of his chest and has been hospitalized.
