Chelsea boss Antonio Conte dismisses rumours of unrest over training schedule

Chelsea have three winnable games before playing at Roma on October 31 and at home to United in the Premier League on November 5.

N'Golo Kante, Victor Moses and Danny Drinkwater are all injured for the champions, while Tiemoue Bakayoko, David Luiz and Gary Cahill are doubtful with minor complaints.

Conte will be without Victor Moses, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury, but the gaffer also can not count on Danny Drinkwater and N'GoloKante, who will be back in the next few weeks.

"It is true we are not in our best moment".

They managed to grab a draw on Wednesday night against Roma after surrendering a two-goal lead, before clawing their way back to come away with a point. Nothing would help set minds at ease more than a win, though first we have to figure out who plays in midfield.

However, that does not change the fact Chelsea look understrength and ill-equipped to fight for silverware on four separate fronts in 2017-18. On the tactical aspects you have to work less and pay less attention on every detail. I repeat: "the problem is [having] to play every game with the same players".

The Blues have lost their past two Premier League matches and are already nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City, having suffered defeats to Pep Guardiola's side and bottom side Crystal Palace. Richarlison was a key performer in a 2-1 victory over Arsenal last weekend even though he wasn't on the score-sheet, but earned a penalty which Troy Deeney converted into the goal in the 71st minute.

Both players will be assessed ahead of Watford's visit.

"I was a magician to anticipate these problems, honestly, ' Conte said, puffing out his cheeks as he considered the state of a squad he says are working '70 per cent less" in training compared to last season due to their increased number of games.

"I hope to have him (Kante) back before the next global break". I spoke to him about everything.

"The most important thing to do is to work, always to have this enthusiasm". He was the only player in the entire 2016-17 Premier League campaign to score home and away against the Blues. "Has he listened? We will see".
