At least 6 killed, 10 injured in Quetta blast

Quetta Police chief Abdur Razak Cheema said auto was detonated by bomb, security forces of vehicle, four policemen on vehicle, and two people who passed road during explosion of vehicle lost ir lives. The nature of blast is yet to be ascertained.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti told the media that fight against terrorism will continue despite the attack.

Medical Superintendent of the Civil Hospital Quetta, Shah Jahan, said that seven bodies including six policemen, and 24 injured, mostly policemen, have been brought to the hospital.

At least 14 people, including seven police personnel, were killed and 21 injured this year in June in a suicide auto bombing near the office of provincial police chief of Balochistan.

"We are at war and our security forces are being targeted as they are crushing the enemies", Bugti said. According to hospital staff, the condition of seven injured was critical.

Security forces have already cordoned off the area. President Mamnoon and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Quetta and paid tribute to the police personnel who laid their lives in the line of duty.

Members of the minority Shiite community and security forces are frequently attacked by militants in the province.

Bugti reiterated that territory of Afghanistan is being used for attacks in Pakistan.

Fifteen people, including eight soldiers, were killed when a suicide bomber targeted a military truck near the Pishin bus stop in Quetta on August 13.
