Facebook Acquires 'tbh,' an Anonymous App for Teens

Facebook has acquired tbh, an anonymous polling app that's beloved by teens.

According to TechCrunch, the deal closed for less than a $100 million. These are then answered anonymously by the users' friends and are sent to the users in the form of positive feedback.

It is unclear how Facebook intends to profit from the new app, which now has no monetization scheme in place.

Although users can submit their own poll questions, TBH says it reviews those entries and accepts only submissions that are uplifting, not offensive, appropriate for people ages 13 and older, and that are amusing or interesting.

Kim Kardashian considered staying home due to 'body dysmorphia'
She complained her nipples would look hard if it was too cold and she didn't want to get any wet marks if it was too hot. Kim Kardashian West is dead-set on making bike shorts a thing.

TBH's sudden rise was enough to grab Facebook's attention (and money). The user can unlock and send more questions depending on how often he or she has been picked to answer a question.

By "emotional needs", they refer to the support that users require to address such serious disorders as depression and the help they need to build better relationships. But it will have more resources owing to Facebook. To redesign the app and its features, tbh's co-founders will go to the Facebook's headquarter and will work on it from there. The social networking giant, on the other hand, stated that both tbh and Facebook are guided by a common goal of building a community and empowering people to share in ways that bring them closer together.

Tbh (as in "to be honest") is geared toward teenagers, and has been a viral hit in the United States, achieving 5 million downloads and generating 1 billion messages in just two months. The questions cover such things as notes of affection ("I will marry them"), straightforward compliments ("Freckles on fleek"), endorsements and sarcasm ("Would drive to your house and wake you up to tell you who finally texted back"). TBH believes that it holds similar values to Facebook and is hopeful that the acquisition will help to bring its message to more people.
