Steenkamp family & South Africa not impressed with Oscar Pistorius film

The family of Oscar Pistorius plan to take legal action against the makers of a film about his life starring South African actor Andreas Damm

Steenkamp's family also said they were not consulted before the movie was produced.

Pistorius, 30, is serving a six-year prison term for killing Steenkamp in his house in the South African capital of Pretoria in the early hours of Valentine's Day on 2013.

A trailer shows the couple arguing, with Pistorius picking up a handgun and telling Steenkamp to "get back here".

A 62-second trailer for Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer was released this week and it looks terrible.

"Oscar was subjected to a month-long psychological evaluation which was insisted upon by the prosecution; the psychological evaluation of Oscar was undertaken by leading minds in the field".

Plans to move Liverpool game to Christmas Eve in doubt
In the two years since the German coach arrived at Anfield, Liverpool have taken 36 points from 20 games, losing just twice. Of course, it could have been a little bit better if chances had gone in or individual errors could have been avoided.

"Oscar was subjected to in depth assessments and on-going tests nearly daily for a month long; at no stage was Oscar found to have the mind of a killer". The "film is rather a representation of what the prosecution tried to portray". Pistorius says the film is a "gross distortion of the findings of the court" and was not a "true reflection" of events. "Looking at trademark and image rights, we will be taking the matter further with our legal team".

The Steenkamp's said they are still mourning for their daughter.

Public prosecutors, who had demanded the mandatory minimum of 15 years for murder, have appealed against the trial judge's decision. "The fact that the accused thought it was an intruder does not make it less serious", said Judge Thokozile Masipa in her sentencing of the South African runner, according to The Telegraph.

The film "Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer" stars a South African-born actor Andreas Damm in the role of Pistorius, while Steenkamp is played by German model Toni Garrn.

The film reportedly heavily features the point of view of both June and Reeva, but the Steenkamp's say they had utterly no collaboration in the film, and did not even know it was being made. The state believes the sentence is too lenient and will push for a longer punishment.
