Senator Luther Strange ousted in Republican runoff by former judge Roy Moore

On 'Hannity,' the former Trump White House chief strategist slams party leaders for trying to 'destroy' Luther Strange opponent Roy Moore

A Democratic super PAC is already digging up the past of Roy Moore, the newly minted Republican nominee in the Alabama Senate race, in one of the first signs that Democrats plan to compete in the deeply conservative state. In terms of policy, he's no different than Luther Strange or any other Republican in the Senate.

Pundits noted that Luther Strange was losing badly even in districts where he was supposed to have a strong showing, which likely precipitated the early calls for the election victor. The anti-establishment conservative could give Republican leaders plenty of headaches if he wins the general election in December.

Strange, the state's former attorney general, was appointed to Sessions' seat in February by then-Gov.

The appointment of unusual, then Alabama attorney general, came just before Bentley was ousted amid a sex scandal. A 2010 bid didn't pan out any better, with Moore finishing a fourth in the primary, getting 19 percent of the vote.

President Donald Trump's most recent tweets urging Alabamians to vote for Sen.

But Trump felt beholden to odd, who has supported his agenda during his few months in the Senate. Vice President Mike Pence also turned out for unusual. Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell backed odd, and an establishment PAC reportedly spent $10 million on his campaign - but as the GOP primary runoff Tuesday drew nearer, unusual ultimately couldn't catch up to Moore, who was consistently in the lead. Throughout the Senate race, unusual had been dogged by criticisms of accepting the appointment from a scandal-battered governor when his office was in charge of corruption investigations.

Kylie Jenner returns to Instagram after pregnancy reports
However, several fans have stated that after zooming in on Jenner's photo evidence of a baby bump is clearly visible. He posted a video to YouTube in which he said: 'Let's be real, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are not going to last.

Moore later tweeted that he spoke to Trump, who endorsed his opponent, after his victory.

His concerns were only exacerbated by the endorsement of Moore by his former chief strategist Steve Bannon, who made a highly visible push for Moore as the anti-GOP-establishment candidate. After all, despite the endorsements of figures like Bannon and Sarah Palin, not even Moore was a pure Trumpian populist. Mr. Moore's provocative euphemism will also bind others in the party to reciprocate for his comments possibly for years to come at a point when many Republicans would proceed on from the debate over gay rights.

They ended up being disappointed.

After Moore's win, Trump was quick to tweet a new message congratulating him.

Roy Moore's victory in the Alabama Republican Senate primary Tuesday appears to show Washington establishment Republicans are still not safe after President Trump's insurgent 2016 candidacy. In 2003, Moore was removed as state Supreme Court chief justice for refusing to take down a Ten Commandments monument. Sure enough, he quickly thumbed his nose at the federal judiciary again; this time ordering probate judges in Alabama to defy the Supreme Court ruling legalizing same sex marriage. On Monday, Moore demonstrated his support for the Second Amendment by drawing his gun at a campaign rally, a move that left Democrats with a case of the vapors. His roots in social conservatism and predilection for quoting scripture and condemning "sodomy" firmly rooted Moore in a different faction of the party.
