Manchester United are at their best since Fergie years, says Moscow boss

Manchester United ambassador Bryan Robson

Manchester United are in Russian Federation on Wednesday to face CSKA Moscow in their second group-stage game of the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League.

Mourinho described it as the best CSKA side he had faced while Goncharenko said it was the strongest United team since Sir Alex Ferguson had retired.

"We can not guarantee this line of success, but the way to keep it is to do what we are doing", the United manager said.

'If the opponent has moments of superiority we have to be humble like we were against Southampton and cope with the hard moments of the game, ' Mourinho added.

United was without Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini due to injury, but replacements Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera were more than capable of controlling the midfield.

'It was a mixture of our quality and dominating like we do, but accepting when the opponent has a strong moment you have to cope with it'.

Mourinho said CSKA will provide his side with a stern test on Wednesday (19:45 BST kick-off) but believes they can return with three points.

Victims of the Antioch church shooting
The shooting occurred at the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, a neighborhood in Davidson County governed by Nashville. Minister Joey Spann leads the congregation at the Burnette Chapel Church, according to its website .

"He didn't exactly say names but everyone thinks they have done something bad or made a mistake". It is for sure the most interesting battle on the pitch for Wednesday night's game.

It marks a stark contrast to Mkhitaryan's fortunes at the start of last season following his move from Borussia Dortmund, with manager Jose Mourinho dropping him from the side for several weeks after a poor display in the Manchester derby defeat at Old Trafford in October.

"It was a huge honor to score in the final and this year we are in the Champions League", Mkhitaryan said, answering a question from RT Sport.

"We don't need any additional motivation because we're going to be hugely motivated. Maybe something will change around set pieces, but there won't be any weakness".

"I did very well last season, I'm very happy for that, I'm very glad, but this season it's a bit different because we're playing in the Champions League and the tournament is more hard".

CSKA beat Benfica 2-1 in Lisbon in their opening Champions League match and lie fourth in the Russian Premier League with six wins from 11 games.

Ferdinand, 38, is happy to see his former club back in the Champions League but believes the Red Devils might be too realistic about their chances in the tournament.
