Iran unveils its new long-range ballistic missile

A TV grab taken from the Iranian Republic Islamic Broadcasting shows a Khoramshahr missile being launched from an undisclosed location a day after the said missile was first displayed at a high-profile military parade in the capital Tehran

Rouhani said Iran would strengthen its missile capabilities without asking for any country's permission.

The broadcaster gave no date for the test, although officials had said on Friday that it would be tested "soon".

The Khorramshahr missile "has a range of 2,000 kilometers [1,243 miles] with ability to carry multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV) within a range of 1,800 kilometers", according to the Tasnim news agency, which is seen as having close ties to Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

Iran denies its missile development breaches the resolution, saying the missiles are not created to carry nuclear weapons.

The news report cites that detail as being "much to the chagrin of President Trump and company" - but 2017 isn't the first time the USA has aired its concerns over Iran's rocket and missile research.

Trump is due to report to Congress on Oct 15 on whether Iran is still complying with the deal and whether it remains in U.S. interests to stick by it.

On Thursday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all major policies in Iran, said Trump's "cheap, ugly, foolish and unreal" remarks before the U.N. General Assembly were a sign of desperation. "Not much of an agreement we have".

Trump said this week he has reached a decision on the nuclear deal, but hasn't revealed what it is, Reuters reported.

North Korea: Tremor detected in north east
Ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun says North Korea should stop provocations that would "lead to its own isolation and demise". Previous quakes from North Korea have indicated nuclear tests by the reclusive state, the most recent earlier this month.

That makes them only medium-range but still sufficient to reach Israel or United States bases in the Gulf.

At the United Nations on Tuesday, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu harshly condemned the Iran nuclear deal, warning that the accord will pave the way for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons if it is not scrapped or altered.

His comments came just days after President Trump delivered a speech at the United Nations in which he accused Iran of exporting violence to Yemen, Syria, and other parts of the Middle East.

Rouhani addressed the parade in Tehran, saying that Iran would not halt its missile program but continue to boost military capabilities, despite US demands.

The Iranian armed forces commemorated the 1980-1988 war with Iraq, on Friday, by holding a parade in which Iran's most advanced military power and abilities are showcased. Luther Strange in Alabama's GOP Senate runoff, and his pride in first lady Melania Trump representing the U.S.in Toronto.

"We can not let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities while building unsafe missiles", he added.

Criticism by the Trump administration of the 2015 nuclear deal has focused heavily on Tehran's continuing missile program.
