Sen. Lindsey Graham: We'll get the votes for Obamacare repeal bill

Trump ObamaCare

The Senate's vehicle to pass a health care bill with just 51 votes expires at the end of this month, and it only takes one more Republican "no" vote to stop the legislation from passing altogether.

After Collins, McCain and Murkowski voted to sink the last GOP attempt to repeal Obamacare in July, bipartisan efforts to fix the health care system began.

The bill would lose if three GOP senators vote "no" in a showdown this week.

"McCain let his best friend L.G. down!"

"It's very hard for me to envision a scenario where I would end up voting for this bill", she said, adding she had " a number of serious reservations about it", including its impact on Medicaid, "the impact on costs and coverage" and "about the erosion of protections for people with pre-existing conditions".

Sen. Susan Collins all but closed the door Sunday to supporting the last-ditch Republican health care bill, leaving her party's drive to uproot President Barack Obama's health care law dangling by an increasingly slender thread.

The closely divided Senate means that the Republicans, who control the chamber, can not lose more than two GOP senators if they hope to pass the legislation. Lindsey Graham of SC and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.

Trump defended the bill, tweeting: "Large Block Grants to States is a good thing to do".

Spain expels North Korean ambassador
South Korea has raised the possibility of reintroducing nuclear weapons to the peninsula. "We've communicated that well enough to the North Koreans".

Sen. John McCain, an Arizona Republican, declared his opposition to Graham-Cassidy on Friday afternoon citing concerns that the bill did not go through "regular order", a series of hearings, markups and an open-amendment process. Sen. States that rejected the Medicaid expansion, many with Republican leadership, would gain $73 billion. In addition, the bill eliminates the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which supports public health programs to fight bioterrorism and promote immunization and cancer screening.

McCain was the deciding vote in July, his "no" vote scuttling a narrow Obamacare repeal bill that McConnell had offered.

She said she also anxious if the "CBO has been given enough time to thoroughly analyze the bill".

Graham-Cassidy is the latest effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace the legislation with a plan that would strip millions of Americans of their health care.

He also claimed that Arizona's Obamacare premiums went up 116% a year ago, and added that Sen.

Speaking to CBS News' John Dickerson, Collins said she'll remain uneasy until the Congressional Budget Office releases its latest projection for the bill's impact. The bill allows states to weaken coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, coverage of essential health benefits, and lifetime caps on a person's care.

Trump was less conciliatory Saturday morning, saying that McCain "was sold a bill of goods" by Sen. Collins said sponsors were making last-minute adjustments in the measure's formulas for distributing federal money to states. Nor could I support it without knowing how much it will cost, how it will (affect) insurance premiums, and how many people will be helped or hurt by it. But McConnell had little margin for error in a Senate split 52-48 between Republicans and Democrats, and could lose only two votes, counting on Pence to break the tie.
