Security scare grounds British Airways plane in Paris

British Airways plane held tarmac Paris terror London attack police threat

"On British Airways flight BA0303, now being held on tarmac at Paris due to security threat, surrounded by police and fire vehicles", James Anderson tweeted.

A British Airways flight bound for London was held on the tarmac in Paris this morning and surrounded by police amid security fears.

While passengers waited on the tarmac, security personnel conducted bag searches while sniffer dogs checked the aircraft, according to Anderson. "We will continue on to London Heathrow", he tweeted.

"The pilot then explained that there was a security threat specifically involving our flight, and each passenger and every piece of luggage was thoroughly searched", Anderson said.

At around 11.10am, a British Airways spokeswoman confirmed the flight had taken off. Now hold luggage being searched by dogs'.

James told metro.co.uk that initially the pilot said there were technical issues as the plane was held on the runway for an hour. That's when we noticed police and fire vehicles quickly surround the plane and dozens of armed officers and firefighters got out.
