Limbaugh evacuates South Florida after claiming Hurricane Irma was a liberal hoax

WILLIAM THOMAS CAIN GETTY

Rush Limbaugh mused on his radio show Tuesday: "I wish that not everything that involved news had become corrupted and politicized, but it just has". The weatherman called out Rush Limbaugh on Twitter after the conservative radio host suggested that the hurricane was being over-hyped.

Last Tuesday on his program, Limbaugh argued that the way the liberal media covers hurricanes is yet another calculated effort created to stoke fear and crystallize in hearts and minds the totally baseless notion that climate change is responsible for the uptick in cyclone formation.

So if you are a regular Rush Limbaugh listener - as I am - you heard Rush discussing the approaching Hurricane Irma this past week.

"All you need is to create the fear and panic accompanied by talk that climate change is causing hurricanes to become more frequent and bigger and more risky, and you create the panic, and it's mission accomplished, agenda advanced", Limbaugh continued.

Hmm, he ate those words.

The conservative commentator said he would broadcast his show next week "from parts unknown".

Al Roker, for one, is happy. Mark Steyn filled in Friday. His hashtag was not fit for a family publication/website.

Nigeria in trouble as China prepares to ban petrol, diesel vehicles
This has already allured a lot of global companies like Ford, VW, Nissan, etc.to form joint ventures with Chinese carmakers. Now it's seeking to cut back on its reliance on imported oil, as the world's second-largest consumer, behind the US.

"Limbaugh's lunacy reflects right-wing orthodoxy, which favors doing nothing in response to climate change on the theory it's all an expensive boondoggle created to victimize innocent oil and gas companies", Pitts wrote in the Miami Herald. "Be safe, people, evacuate if you're told to!"

Limbaugh told his listeners that he was "simply explaining to people how it works", claiming that, "There's corruption everywhere in our politics, and it is epitomized during national disasters and emergencies because the left is always working on moving their agenda forward, climate change, radical environmentalism, and so the occasion of this hurricane is an exciting thing for them!" You're not, alright? And we're not trying to scare people, we're not trying to hype this.

All joking matters aside, Maher did take a moment to speak to his fans in Florida directly, telling them to stop watching his show and "get the f-k out right now". His overarching point, for those who do not or did not listen, is that when even the computer models were showing Irma was going to turn north and go up the eastern seaboard, people were making a run on water in Florida.

On Thursday, Limbaugh seemed to indicate that he would be evacuating from Palm Beach Fla., canceling his weekend shows.

"We'll be back on Monday, it's just that tomorrow is going to be problematic".

Limbaugh also said it would be "legally impossible" to do his program on Friday, which CNN security analyst Juliette Kayyem noted means his area of Palm Beach County is under mandatory evacuation.
