Rohingya boats reportedly capsize in Teknaf, 4 bodies recovered

44 Rohingya protestors nabbed over illegal rally

International Organisation for Migration says at least 18,000 Rohingya have entered Bangladesh after the violence erupted in the Myanmar's Rakhine state on August 25.

Burma has evacuated thousands of Rakhine Buddhists from the area, where ongoing clashes have so far killed at least 117 people, a lot of them Rohingya insurgents but also security officials.

The government used a militant attack on border guards back in October 2016 as a pretext to enforce the blockade on Rakhine.

"Many thousands of people are increasingly at risk of grave violations of their human rights", she said in a statement.

"This is where the dead bodies from Chut Pyin village were buried ... they buried 10-20 bodies, putting two to three bodies in each pit", an unidentified man on the video said.

A coast guard official, who asked not to be named, said the migrants were travelling on "rickety inland fishing boats" ill-equipped for the rough seas around Bangladesh.

The bodies of two Rohingya women and two children were recovered on Wednesday after their boat was sacked on by Myanmar's Border Guard Police, Islam said.

Since the last Friday attack by the Rohingya insurgence, an estimate of 90 deaths have been reported over the weekend.

Japan, Britain agree to enhance economic cooperation
May is in Japan to soothe their fears, but the visit has been overshadowed by North Korea's missile test over north Japan. Before the meeting, May described Japan as "the UK's closest security partner in Asia" and a "like-minded partner".

The Rohingya, an ethnic minority in Myanmar, have long complained of religious and cultural discrimination at the hands of the majority Buddhist people.

In October, some Rohingyas started to fight back, with a Saudi-funded insurgent group called Harakah al-Yaqin (Faith Movement) attacking police posts, killing nine officers.

Afterwards, UK ambassador to the UN Matthew Rycroft said there were still many "hugely supportive" allies of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, who is the de facto leader of Myanmar's civilian-led government.

"The worsening cycle of violence is of grave concern and must be broken urgently", said the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Myanmar, Yanghee Lee, in a news release issued today from the Office of UN High Commissioners for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Since last week, at least 100 people, including 12 Myanmarese soldiers, have been killed in the violence.

"Villagers are running away. where do we have to live now?" the villager said.

The Myanmar Government said it was conducting a justified military response to a terrorist threat but to many observers, the "clearance operation" has all the hallmarks of ethnic cleansing, if not genocide.

Yanghee Lee, the United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar, said the humanitarian situation was deteriorating rapidly.
