Terry Pratchett gets his wish: Unpublished works crushed by steamroller

These Animated Vintage Textbooks Would Make School Feel Like an Acid Trip By Andrew Liszewski on 11 Aug 2017 at 10:00AM Whoa man. Totally far out

A hard drive containing unfinished works by Terry Pratchett has been destroyed by a steamroller, as per the late author's wishes. Still, there were other fragments of Pratchett's work floating around, unfinished work that he left in the hands of his loyal assistant, Rob Wilkins.

Pratchett, who died in March 2015 at the age of 66, had requested the unique method of destroying his work.

Pratchett had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2007 and it's though he did not want his unfinished tales to be released after his death.

Just over half an hour later, another photograph was uploaded, the device having been smashed and the caption reading: "There goes the browsing history..."

The destruction of the drive came ahead of a new exhibition about the Discworld author, which is due to open at the Salisbury Museum in England next month - with the freshly crushed storage device set to be one of the exhibits.

Mexico Will Pay For Wall, Trump Insists
In addition, Trump said during a campaign-style rally in Phoenix on August 22 that NAFTA will "probably" be terminated. It may be through reimbursement, but one way or the other, Mexico will pay for the wall.

After being pulverized by the machine, the remains of the drive were put into a stone crusher. This has been a long time coming, as fellow author Neil Gaiman confirmed to The Times in 2015 that this is exactly what Pratchett wanted after his death.

Leave it to Terry Pratchett to deal with the remainder of his writings in a delightfully ridiculous way.

That's taking place from September 16th right through until January 2018.

The exhibition's curator, Richard Henry, said the steamroller did not manage to crush the hard drive completely - despite weighing more than six tonnes.
